WHAT IS SD-WAN?

SD-WAN or software-defined wide area network is an emerging technology to manage and optimize a wide area network. Across a global network, it helps overcome high bandwidth cost of fixed connections and incorporates internet transports to form a hybrid network.

An SD-WAN architecture can quickly and easily connect onto current infrastructure between data centers, branch offices, and cloud services. Driven by data analytics, media traffic, storage and applications, SD-WAN delivers centralized management, security, resiliency, and performance for today’s enterprises.

Bigleaf Networks's logo'
Request a Demo
Solution Pros:
  • Protected from cable cuts, routing issues, unscheduled maintenance, packet loss, or network instability
  • Flexible load balancing algorithms work over all circuits
  • Bigleaf is the perfect SD-WAN foundation for Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Watchguard, SonicWall and other VPNs
Top Features Include:
  • End-to-end advanced monitoring and automatic adaption
  • Plug-and-Play installation takes 5-10 minutes at each location
  • Optimized VPN traffic ensures priority and most stable connection
Summary:

Bigleaf provides internet failover and optimization, cloud application performance, load balancing and quality of service, and site-to-site VPN foundation. Their end-to-end internet visibility and same-IP failover operates better than dual-WAN firewalls, which limit visibility and control traffic. Load balancer limitations suffer the same, unlike Bigleaf’s true seamless failover which moves traffic between ISPs without dropping sessions. Overall, Bigleaf offers plenty of benefits compared to more traditional and standard methods.

Solution Pros:
  • Link Bonding allow businesses to select four link bonding policies: High Availability, High Quality, High Throughput and High Efficiency
  • Dynamic Path Control (DPC) gives EdgeConnect the ability to intelligently route traffic over multiple available paths
  • EdgeConnect helps ease the burden of complying regulations with security certification and compliance, including HIPPA, PCI, SOX, FIPS 140-2, and others
Top Features Include:
  • Unity Boost, an optional performance pack that enables Silver Peak market-leading WAN optimization
  • Security features include Data-in-Transit Protection, Micro-segmentation, DDoS Protection, Encryption, and Zone-based Firewall
  • Silver Peak supports industry-leading security partners including Check Point, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and Zscaler
Summary:

Silver Peak’s Unity EdgeConnect SD-WAN solution serves to securely connect users to their applications, traversing the WAN using the highest performing and most cost-effective means possible. Implementing business intent overlays that incorporate link bonding, path conditioning, dynamic path control, bi-directional shaping and dynamic rate control would be complex if these features were left to be set up independently. However, Silver Peak’s SD-WAN platform makes this manageable. From a single central console, called Unity Orchestrator, network administrators don’t have to spend hours tweaking and tuning, they simply use configuration wizards to give Orchestrator the basics (connections, bandwidth, topology, etc.). From there, the EdgeConnect goes to work to automatically configure secure network connections, appropriately according to each site’s topology. From there, the overlays are built and configured with the appropriate policies.

In the end, making the Internet reliable for an enterprise WAN requires the seamless integration of many different technologies. From packet-based load balancing, to reliable bi-directional shaping, to path conditioning, to business intent overlays that virtualize network functions, EdgeConnect gives enterprises the unparalleled control over their WAN. Layered on top of all of this, the option to add modular WAN optimization when and where it’s needed (another unique feature of Silver Peak’s SD-WAN solution called Unity Boost), and Silver Peak’s EdgeConnect platform separates itself from the competition. Only Silver Peak delivers a complete SD-WAN solution that scales to meet the connectivity and performance needs of any enterprise.

Summary:

FatPipe Networks is one of America’s fastest growing companies, being an INC 500 and Utah’s Top 100 fastest growing for several years. Inventor and holder of multiple patents, FatPipe SD-WAN products can be deployed either on premise or a hosted Orchestrator in the cloud. Customers simply drop an appliance in the datacenter or branch office and easily migrate to a more optimal hybrid WAN topology for diverse cloud resources. Alternatively, a hosted FatPipe Orchestrator device can phone home and pull policy and security configuration with no touch needed.

For Managed Service Providers (MSP), FatPipe-as-a-Service runs appliances inside of the MSP’s cloud and allows for the MSP to have a single multi-tenant FatPipe Orchestrator or multiple virtual FatPipe Orchestrator appliances. Multiple customer data networks remain segmented while allowing an MSP to have global overview of the customer base. Overall, FatPipe Networks provides the best WAN redundancy and load balancing product available, and now also provides powerful multi-line WAN acceleration, Quality of Service (QoS), compression, caching and deduplication technology to greatly improve network performance.
